GORDON FOXLEY, the former Ministry of Defence official convicted last November of taking pounds 1.5m in bribes from overseas arms companies, is still a free man after another delay in his sentencing, writes Chris Blackhurst.

He was due to be sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court yesterday, but Roy Amlot QC, counsel for Foxley, told Judge Andrew Brooks that his client, who suffers from a heart condition, had become unwell after an 'incident' at his home at Henley-on- Thames in Oxfordshire last week. The judge agreed to an adjournment. It is the second time sentencing has been adjourned. It was originally set for 10 December last year, but was postponed pending a detailed financial report and moves by the Crown to seize Foxley's assets.
