Cheese wins prize
Juliette Harbutt, a judge at the Nantwich International Cheese Show, in Cheshire, smelling one of the 1,250 entries in the event,
described as the 'Oscars of cheese'.
Swedish Blue - a variation on a theme by Stilton and described as 'soft, blue and kind of creamy' - won the top single speciality prize. Its producer, Ann Freudenthal, said it tasted like Danish Blue, but 'milder and fresher'. Sainsbury's orders a ton a week.
The best cheese, supreme champion of Nantwich, was a Wensleydale originating from 165 cows grazing at Richard and Jill Hares's farm in Shropshire.
