British Airways is calling for a design change on its Concorde after a tyre- burst punctured a fuel tank on a taxi-ing aircraft, writes Christian Wolmar.

Three incident involving rudders braking up in flight between 1989 and 1993 led BA last year to order new ones at a cost of pounds 1m each
