Police in Scotland are working to identify the body of a man found in a burn in Bathgate, West Lothian.

Officers were called to Linkston Way on Thursday morning at around 6.55am, a Police Scotland spokesperson said in a statement shared with The Independent.

Upon arrival, they located the body of a man near a small area of water.

The spokesperson said officers were still working to determine the man’s identity.

“Inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal,” the spokesperson said.

This is a developing story and it will be updated as more information becomes available.
