Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky will pay £35 million towards Roman Abramovich's legal costs after losing a High Court battle, a judge was told today.

Mr Berezovsky had sued the Chelsea Football Club owner over deals done in Russia and claimed more than £3 billion in damages.

But earlier this year a High Court judge dismissed his claims and ruled in favour of Mr Abramovich.

Lawyers told the High Court in London today that Mr Berezovsky has agreed to pay £35 million towards Mr Abramovich's costs.

The court was given no detail about the total costs run up by Mr Berezovsky.

Mrs Justice Gloster was told that all outstanding issues had been settled and the litigation was at an end.
