Businessman Arran Coghlan faces court over mansion shooting

A businessman will appear in court today charged with murder.

Arran Coghlan, 39, is accused of shooting Stephen Akinyemi at his £2 million home in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

Mr Akinyemi, 44, from Cheetham Hill, Manchester, was discovered by police in the bathroom of Coghlan's mansion on February 9.

A post mortem showed Mr Akinyemi suffered a bullet wound to the head and stab injuries to his upper body.

Coghlan was injured in the incident but discharged after a period in hospital.

He is due to make his first appearance before Chester Crown Court later today.
