Husband remanded over Christmas Day murder

A 56-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering his wife on Christmas Day.

Stephen Woodward, from Bilborough, Nottingham, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court today charged with the murder of Gillian Woodward.

Officers found Mrs Woodward, also 56, with stab wounds at their home at around 3.45pm on Christmas Day.

Woodward, of Bosden Close, was remanded to reappear at Nottingham Crown Court on January 11.
