Man stabbed to death on Oxford Street

A man was stabbed to death in Oxford Street, London today, the Metropolitan Police said.

Officers were called to the scene outside McDonald's near Oxford Circus at 4.47pm.

The man, believed to be in his early 20s, was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said they were called to reports of a stabbing.

He said: "Our first vehicle arrived within five minutes and we found a male in his 20s who was in cardiac arrest.

Police have cordoned off the street.
