Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the murder of PC Sharon Sharon Beshenivsky. Yusuf Jama, who was arrested in Birmingham last night, is one of three men they wanted to question over the killing.

PC Beshenivsky, 38, was shot outside a Bradford travel agency. Detectives are still hunting Muzzaker Imtiaz Shah, 24, and Jama's brother, Mustaf, 19.

Police have warned the public that the two men still at large are " dangerous, likely to be armed and should not be approached". Police say the suspects could be hiding anywhere in Britain, or may have slipped abroad since the murder nine days ago.

All three men have previous convictions, which include firearms offences and robbery. Detectives have been unable to establish a link between the travel agency and the suspects.

PC Beshenivsky and her colleague, PC Teresa Milburn, 37, were shot as they attended an alarm triggered by a member of staff outside a travel agency. Robbers escaped with £2,000.

PC Milburn was released from hospital last week after treatment for a shot to the shoulder.

Detective Superintendent Andy Brennan, who is leading the inquiry, confirmed that the brothers are of Somali origin. The third man was born in the UK.

Det Supt Brennan said: "I can only assume that it was a random robbery. They've turned up and committed a very violent robbery."
