Postmistress killer gets life

A shopkeeper who bludgeoned his postmistress wife to death and then blamed an armed robber has been jailed for life.

Robin Garbutt, 45, hit 40-year-old Diana over the head three times as she slept in the living quarters above Melsonby Village Shop in North Yorkshire.

At Teesside Crown Court, he was told he must serve at least 20 years.
