Three on the run from prison

Three prisoners - including a 61-year-old serving life for armed robbery - are on the run today after escaping from jail, police said.

Officers are appealing for information to trace the three absconders, missing from Leyhill Prison in South Gloucestershire.

Anthony Duggan, 61, was reported missing on Monday and may have travelled to the Leicestershire area, police said. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for armed robbery.

Martin McDonagh, 33, and Matthew Seal, 32, were also reported missing on Monday. McDonagh was serving three years for burglary and Seal was serving nine years for supplying drugs.

Police said McDonagh has links to Wiltshire and Thames Valley and Seal has links to South Wales and Merseyside.

Duggan is described as white, about 5ft 9in and of medium build, with receding hair. He has a 6in scar on his left cheek.

McDonagh is described as white, 5ft 6in and of medium build. He has short black hair and a scar on his right cheek.

Seal is described as white, 5ft 9in and of medium build. He has short dark brown hair and is clean shaven. He speaks with a Welsh accent.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has contacted other forces as part of an investigation to trace the men's whereabouts.
