Wigan man who tried to perform sex act with a postbox found dead behind Chinese restaurant
Paul Bennett was ordered to attend an alcohol-awareness course last month
A man who was fined for trying to perform a sex act with a postbox while inebriated has been found dead.
Paul Bennett’s body was discovered behind a Chinese restaurant in Wigan, Greater Manchester, on Sunday morning, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Police say his death is not being treated a suspicious.
Bennett had been spotted trying to perform a sex act on a red mail box while shouting ‘wow’ in September 2014, according to the paper.
Prosecutor Katie Beattie told Wigan Magistrates Court last month that Bennet lay down on a bench and shouted before exposing himself.
He then walked towards a post box and and “started to make sexual advances towards it", according to Wigan Today.
He was handed a 12-month community order and ordered to attend an alcohol-awareness course.
Manchester Police said in a statement given to The Independent: “Police were called to Poolstock at 1.36am on Sunday22 February 2015 after the body of a 45-year-old man was found.
“The death is non-suspicious and a file has been passed on to the coroner.”
