Police were looking today for witnesses who saw a man being frogmarched naked through a town by a gang of people.

Bedfordshire Police said the 22-year-old was assaulted by a group of people at Rothbury Court in Bedford, then made to wear a sleep mask while he was frogmarched naked through the streets at 3am on Sunday.

He was taken to an address in Hamsterley Close where he was assaulted again before police intervened, a spokesman said today.

Detective Constable Darren Armitage said: "This was a particularly brutal attack on a vulnerable man by a group of young people who assaulted him and made him walk naked through the streets from Rothbury Court to Hamsterly Close where he was assaulted further.

"We are looking for anyone in the area at the time who may have seen the incident."
