Woman held after 4-year-old girl found dead

A 22-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a four-year-old girl was found dead, Merseyside Police said today.

Officers found the girl at her home in the Wallasey area of Liverpool after they were called by a family member in the early hours of the morning.

The arrested woman is believed to be the girl's mother, a police source said.
