Drink-driver jailed

A Christmas Eve drink-driver who was flagged down by other motorists because of his erratic progress was jailed for three months and banned from driving for three years. Magistrates were told that Desmond McArdle, 57, of Swindon, Wiltshire, tried to get back into his car and was prevented from driving away only when another motorist took his car keys. His alcohol level was three times the legal limit.
