Flood warnings were issued for rivers in Wales and the South-west as more heavy rain fell yesterday.

At Langstone, Gwent, a 53-year-old motorist suffered head injuries when his car was blown over, police said.

In North Wales, a man died when his canoe capsized in the swollen river Ogwen near Bethesda.

The National Rivers Authority issued red flood warnings on seven Welsh rivers. The South-west was put on flood alert again after torrential overnight rain caused swollen rivers to burst their banks.
