JAMES KELLY, 21, a Wolverhampton Wanderers footballer, his brother John, 22, and Kevin Atkinson, 21, all from Liverpool, were remanded in custody when they appeared before magistrates in the city yesterday charged with murdering a hotel worker.

The court was told that they took part in a 'vicious and persistent' street attack which left 26-year-old Peter Dunphy dying. Reporting restrictions were lifted at the request of Mr Atkinson's lawyer.
