Hindus object to goddess's name on rubbish vans
Hindus are demanding that a French-based waste management company removes its initials SITA from rubbish vans operating in Leicester because the letters spell out the name of the Hindu goddess of purity.
Hasmukh Shah, the international trustee of the World Council of Hindus, said the sight of the goddess's name on the vans was grossly insulting. He added that the company's offer to punctuate the initials was unacceptable.
