£113m lottery jackpot winner to remain anonymous

The winner of the UK's biggest lottery prize has decided to remain anonymous, operator Camelot has said. The ticket-holder won a record-breaking £113,019,926 in the EuroMillions Lottery jackpot in the draw on Friday 8 October. The jackpot went unclaimed for nearly two weeks.

The lottery operator Camelot said it had received more than 1,000 lost ticket claims for the massive win from around the country. "We're delighted that the ticket-holder has now come forward to claim this life-changing prize," a National Lottery spokesman said.

Camelot said the winner had decided not to go public so no other details will be revealed, including where the winning ticket was bought. "We are unable to confirm whether the ticket-holder is an individual or part of a syndicate. As with all major jackpot winners, they will receive independent financial and legal advice as well as ongoing personal support," the spokesman said.

The £113m jackpot is the biggest lottery prize to be paid out in the UK. The previous largest in the UK was £84.4m paid to an anonymous player of the EuroMillions draw in May.
