Body at cement works is not Essex teenager
The body found on Friday at a cement works in Kent was not that of Danielle Jones, the Essex teenager who went missing nine months ago, police said yesterday.
The disclosure follows the results of tests on the female remains, which were found by workmen at the Blue Circle cement works in Northfleet, a few miles from where the 15-year-old disappeared. A post-mortem examination earlier had been inconclusive.
Previously the search for Danielle, who has not been seen since setting off last June for school in East Tilbury, Essex, had centred on marshland near her home.
Her uncle, Stuart Campbell, 43, of Grays, Essex, has been charged with murder.
The dead female is described as being aged between 14 and 20, with long fair hair. She was wearing a black sleeveless T-shirt, a denim jacket, black trousers, and black leather boots. Kent police have opened a murder inquiry.
