A cow has been spotted walking down some train tracks in North Somerset possibly in search of greener pastures.

Commuters were held up for two hours while the confused animal trotted along the tracks at Nailsea and Blackwell stations, seemingly oblivious to the oncoming trains.

Services between Bristol, Taunton and Exeter were disrupted by the creature but commuters seemed to be more amused than annoyed by the delay to their journey.

Aimee Ramsay captured this short video of the beast walking along the tracks and posted pictures of the incident on Twitter.

She tweeted: 'Trains are delayed. Kamikaze cows everywhere #yolo.'

The cow was eventually removed from the tracks by National Rail.
