Duchess of Cambridge makes first public appearance since giving birth at Anglesey marathon
The Duke and Duchess are attending a sporting event on Anglesey in Kate’s first public appearance since giving birth
The Duchess of Cambridge has made her first public appearance since giving birth to Prince George today as she joined husband William at the start of a marathon event on Anglesey.
The Duke of Cambridge is making one of his final public engagements on Anglesey as the new father's time on the island comes to an end.
William is joined by Kate as he starts the gruelling 211km (131 miles), three-day annual “ultra” marathon run around the coast of the island, known as the Ring O' Fire.
The marathon route takes in a variety of terrains and ascends some 4,000m (13,700ft).
The Duchess joined Prince William as he met volunteers, runners and their families before taking part in the even himself.
The couple have reportedly left George at their cottage on the island.
Earlier this month the duke gave a speech at the island’s annual agricultural show in one of his first public engagements since the birth of his son on 22 July.
William said the island had been a “special place” during his work as a search and rescue pilot at 22 Squadron at RAF Valley.
He has been based on the island since 2009 and is due to leave next month.
