Man dies after being trapped in factory oven
A man has died after he became trapped in an oven at a canoe factory.
Police were called to Pyranha Mouldings in Runcorn, Cheshire, yesterday after the discovery of the body of the man, who has not been named.
A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said: "An employee at a plastics moulding company suffered fatal injuries while working with industrial machinery. The deceased is a man in his 50s from the Runcorn area.
"The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been informed and a coroner's file will be prepared in due course."
The HSE confirmed it was conducting a joint investigation with the police.
On its website, Pyranha Mouldings says it is Europe's largest specialist manufacturer of canoes and kayaks with the motto "By enthusiasts - for enthusiasts".
