A manor house thought to be one of the UK's most haunted properties is to be auctioned later this month. Security guards refuse to work alone at night at Wymering Manor in Portsmouth.

The property, believed to be the city's oldest house, has a guide price of £375,000. The building is a 17th-century former vicarage, monastery and home, and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. It has seen much-documented paranormal activity including children whispering and strange apparitions.
