SIR Cranley Onslow, 68, is to stand down as Conservative MP for Woking at the next general election after 30 years. He was chairman of the 1922 Committee from 1984-92 and in 1990 led the delegation of 'men in grey suits' to tell Mrs Thatcher that her position was untenable.
