Police clear Brian Haw's peace camp
Police have removed the late Brian Haw's 10-year-old peace camp in Parliament Square, claiming it amounted to "litter".
Around 20 officers took away the campaigner's tent and display of anti-war placards, as well as the tent belonging to his close friend Barbara Tucker, who is serving a nine-week prison sentence.
Demonstrators at the site described the early morning operation as a "disgrace". Mr Haw died in June from lung cancer at the age of 62. A number of MPs have since called for a permanent memorial to be built in his honour.
