A man has been charged with his mother's murder after police discovered her body at her home.

Thomas Fisher 22, was arrested after officers found Fiona Fisher at the property in Crowborough, Sussex.

Police were alerted by relatives who were concerned that the 51-year-old was not answering her calls.

In a statement, the family of Ms Fisher, who also had a 20-year-old daughter called Megan, said they were struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.

“There are no words to explain the love those around her felt for her, she is irreplaceable,” they added.

Mr Fisher, of no fixed abode, is also accused of fraud, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance. He will appear at Hastings Magistrates Court.

Mrs Fisher worked as an assistant manager for beauty brand L’Occitane, according to an online profile.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Officers arrested a man after finding the body of a woman on Friday evening. After speaking to him, he was arrested on suspicion of murder."
