Hurd seeks details of Chile death
Douglas Hurd, the Foreign Secretary, wants a thorough investigation into the death in Chile of a British journalist researching arms sales to Iraq.
Arriving in Santiago for an official visit, he said Britain wanted Chile to continue its criminal investigation to find out how Jonathan Moyle died.
Moyle was found hanged in a hotel closet in Santiago in March 1990. Police at first said he killed himself. But an investigating judge said he believed Moyle was murdered.
Mr Hurd said: 'Our interest is that there should be, as there is, a full and thorough investigation.'
