Sheila Bowler, a 62-year-old music teacher, was jailed for life for murdering her 89-year-old aunt because her nursing home fees of more than pounds 1,000 a month were using up her inheritance.

Bowler, of Rye, East Sussex, who had denied the charge, pushed Florence Jackson into the river Brede, East Sussex, when she took her home for a weekend visit, Hove Crown Court was told.
