The London borough of Croydon has contracted out its legal work to private practice, the second local authority to make the move. The five-year contract has been given to Stoneham Langton & Passmore, with some 30 of Croydon's legal staff transferring across to the firm. Earlier this year, the East Anglian practice Steele & Co was awarded a contract for legal services work for Broadland district council.
