Low speeds for boats on the Norfolk Broads

Speed-limit signs being erected on the Norfolk Broads. The restrictions are aimed at protecting river banks from erosion by the wash from the increasing number of motorboats using the 120-mile network of waterways. There are now an estimated 8,500 privately-owned motorboats on the Broads. The maximum speed will be cut from 7mph to 6mph, and in some areas to 5mph or 4mph, from 1 November
