The Marquess of Blandford, 38, heir to the Blenheim estate in Oxfordshire, was put on probation for 18 months for theft and forgery against friends, taxi drivers and his cleaner. The magistrate at the Horseferry Road court in London said the 'mean' offences were caused largely by drug addiction and in-patient treatment at a specialist clinic was made a condition of probation.
