The Home Office has agreed to delay the deportation of a Bosnian Croat who fled to Britain only to be told that she could not stay in this country.

Immigration officials had planned to deport Mira Litobac and her two young sons yesterday, saying that as she had passed through France on her way to Dover, she should seek asylum there.

But the deportation was postponed after Mrs Litobac, who has a sister living in west London, appealed against the decision.
