Naked ambition fires job-hunters

A JOBCENTRE has been inundated with applications from women for the post of wardrobe assistant to the Chippendales, the male stripping troupe.

The job pays pounds 5 an hour for five hours' work backstage during a performance in Skegness, Lincolnshire, next week. A spokesman for the resort's Jobcentre said: 'We could have filled this vacancy before we even put it on the shelves. We deliberately kept it low-profile so that the switchboards did not jam, but word leaked out.'

But the job may not be very glamorous. It mainly involves ironing and their manager, Tony Gorman, said: 'There are 18 guys. That adds up to a lot of costume changes.'
