Police to pay pounds 6,000 damages

The Metropolitan Police yesterday agreed to pay pounds 6,000 damages and costs in settlement of a claim for false imprisonment, battery and malicious prosecution by Anthony Emmanuel, 28, of Bromley, south-east London.
Croydon county court was told that the force had denied his allegations that three officers had fabricated evidence.
