In an article headlined "New peers promise to work harder" (2 April) it was wrongly stated that Lord Cocks of Hartcliffe was conspicuous by his absence from the vote on the Section 28 amendment. In fact he was in attendance but abstained from voting. We apologise to Lord Cocks for the embarrassment caused by the error.
