DEFENCE: Support services for the Royal Family cost the Ministry of Defence pounds 16m last year, Jeremy Hanley, Minister of State for the Armed Forces, said. Of that total, pounds 8.3m was spent on the Royal Yacht and pounds 7.5m went on the Queen's Flight.

EMPLOYMENT: Twelve per cent of 16 and 17-year-olds were in full-time employment in the second quarter of this year, compared with 29.3 per cent in 1984, Anne Widdecombe, Under-Secretary of State for Employment, said.

TREASURY: Relocating some Inland Revenue offices from London to Nottingham will save pounds 12m a year, Stephen Dorrell, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, said. The move will be completed by April 1995.
