David Cameron sought to pass a health check while visiting Salford Royal Hospital in Greater Manchester.

Keen to avoid another dressing down after a surgeon at Guy’s Hospital in London berated a camera crew for failing to observe strict hygiene rules, he rolled up his sleeves and tucked in his tie. The Prime Minister was unveiling his new plan to improve standards of care, including hourly ward rounds by nurses.
