Jeremy Corbyn confronts Theresa May about breaking manifesto pledge over education funding

Theresa May is facing Jeremy Corbyn in the week she announced she would trigger Article 50 - and set the ball rolling on Brexit - on 29 March.

Last weekend's headlines were dominated by fresh Labour infighting, as Tom Watson attacked the Unite union and campaigning group Momentum over claims of "entryism".

The SNP, meanwhile, are likely to focus on Nicola Sturgeon's plans to push for a second Scottish independence referendum - an idea rejected by Theresa May. The Scottish Parliament will vote on the proposal later on Wednesday.

May goes on the attack, accusing several of Jeremy Corbyn's cabinet, including Diane Abbott and Shami Chakrabatri of having sent their own children to private schools and Corbyn of sending his son to grammar school.

"Typical Labour, take the advantage and pull up the ladder behind them", she fires across the Despatch Box.

Corbyn says he wants a "staircase for all, not a ladder for the few".

"I want a staircase for all," says Corbyn at #PMQs . Interesting policy. But I prefer the wage cap ratio thing.

Corbyn says the Prime Minister is "betraying a generation" and claims Conservative policies will mean "fewer teachers, larger classes, fewer subjects to choose from".

He accuses May of prioritising a grammar school "vanity project" over the education of the majority.

May finishes her bout with Corbyn on the front foot, attacking a video released earlier this week in which the Labour leader called for unity and demanded Labour MPs and members "put the party first".

"Labour put the party first, we put the country first", May shouts.

Angus Robertson, the SNP's leader in Westminster, says Theresa May promised last year to "secure a UK-wide agreement" with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland before triggering Article 50.

Since then, he says, she has "delayed, blocked, been intransigent and lectured" and "has no agreement". Will these be her negotiation tactics with the EU, he asks?

Robertson says a number of institutions, from the House of Commons and House of Lords to the European Parliament, will all have a choice on Brexit. Why shouldn't the people of Scotland have a say too?

Theresa May replies that the people of Scotland voted to remain in the UK and Britain voted to leave the EU; the Government is respecting both of those votes, she says, accusing the SNP of "respecting neither of them".

SNP MPs are quizzing the Prime Minister on her decision to reject calls for a second Scottish independence referendum.

May tells one that the most important market for Scotland is the market of the UK "and that's why Scotland should remain part of it".

Again, the SNP shows it's a bloody good operation. Strategic, disciplined, smart and eloquent. Proper opposition, causing May problems.
