Sinn Fein anger over power-sharing deadlock

Martin McGuinness will meet Peter Robinson today for crunch talks about the future of the Northern Ireland power-sharing government, it was confirmed last night.

The future of the ministerial executive has been questioned because of an impasse over devolution of policing and justice powers to Belfast from London.

Sinn Fein deputy First Minister Mr McGuinness holds discussions with Democratic Unionist First Minister Mr Robinson at Stormont as the British and Irish premiers meet in London to consider the peace process.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Irish Taoiseach Brian Cowen want to shore up support for the local administration.
