The culture secretary has blamed the Tories’ heavy local election losses on the pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Lucy Frazer added that the Conservative Party had been in power for “a long time”.
The cabinet minister conceded that voters were “frustrated and angry”, but claimed Rishi Sunak was starting to regain the public’s trust. She added that Mr Sunak delivering for the British people in “a quiet way”.
