Priest sentenced
Patrick Ryan, a priest whose extradition from the Irish Republic was unsuccessfully sought by Britain in 1989, was given three years jail suspended for handling stolen goods worth Ir pounds 8,000. The Dublin Special Criminal Court also told him to pay Ir pounds 9,000 compensation.
