Scotland's big thaw

PARTS of Scotland were badly flooded and melting snow blocked many roads. Worst-hit were Fife, Tayside and Central Scotland, where some homes were evacuated. Callender's main street was under two feet of water. A couple died when a tree fell on their car on the A8 in Lothian.
