David Harries, 49, a sheep dealer, was fined pounds 2,800 at Birmingham magistrates court for packing 169 sheep into a trailer so tightly that one of them could not walk. George Ritchie, 44, who was transporting the sheep, was fined pounds 2,000. They were ordered to pay pounds 204 costs each.
