Shipwreck off south Devon coast
The 9,700-ton coaster Demetrius lying broken in two at Prawle Point on the south Devon coast yesterday after breaking loose from a Russian tug while under tow in gale-force winds and heavy seas. The 400ft vessel, which was being towed from Dunkirk to Greece for scrap was empty and unmanned.
