THE GLAMOROUS toy doll Sindy is to have plastic surgery to stop a multi-million pound High Court battle with her American rival Barbie.

Hasbro, the British maker of Sindy, agreed for the doll to have a facelift so she no longer looks like Barbie.

The battle started when Sindy started to grow up rather too quickly for the liking of Mattel, which makes Barbie. Mattel threatened legal action and a fight over the British doll market was scheduled for the High Court next month.

A statement on behalf of the two companies says: 'Hasbro has remodelled the head of Sindy in a way which Mattel and Hasbro have agreed is acceptable.'
