Sinn Fein plan to open border crossings
Sinn Fein will try to open more than 200 cross-border roads between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic over the weekend, the party said last night.
Sir Patrick Mayhew ordered the opening of six minor border roads last night and 10 more a week ago. But Sinn Fein said that they would attempt to co-ordinate the reopening of more than 200 more during a weekend of protest action.
