A DISTRIBUTION company supplying the Sainsbury supermarket chain has locked out its 300 workers in a row over Sunday trading, the Transport and General Workers union said yesterday.

Lowfields distribution depot in Manchester barred the workers after they voted in favour of strike action following an attempt to enforce Sunday working. Lowfields had said it was pressured by its sole customer, Sainsbury, which had a policy of voluntary Sunday working.
