Asurgeon infected with hepatitis B was remanded in custody on a deception charge, after it was alleged that he obtained employment without revealing that he carried the virus. Dr Umesh Gaud was employed at the Royal London Hospital and the London Chest Hospital; police were called in after five patients contracted hepatitis B.
