A headmaster who beat pupils at his pounds 900-a-term Greybrook School at Newbiggin, Northumberland, then ordered them to thank him was given a three- month suspended jail sentence and ordered to pay pounds 4,200 costs at Newcastle upon Tyne Crown Court. Kevin Booth, 34, used a riding crop, bamboo cane and heavy ruler.
